Beauty Creek Campground

Beauty Creek Campground is located approximately 15 miles southeast of Coeur d’Alene, ID.  It has 16 single sites, 1 double site and an overnight group site that includes a pavilion.  A few of the picnic tables at sites have covered shelters since they are in an open meadow.  The campground is located along the intermittent Beauty Creek.

Reservations:  Available at recreation.gov. Reservations can be made 6 months prior to the first day of your camping stay.

Directions: From the city of Coeur d’Alene, travel east on I-90 to Exit 22 (Harrison-St. Maries), then turn right (south) on State Highway 97. Drive 2.5 miles to Forest Road 438 and turn left on #438, just before the bridge. Travel about one mile on this gravel road to the campground entrance on the right.  See map below.

 

Open Dates: Opens one week before Memorial Day weekend (on Friday). Closes the last Monday in September at noon. For the most up-to-date season dates, visit recreation.gov.

 

Amenities: Four vault toilets, drinking water from hand pumps, and a dumpster.

 

Nearby: The trailhead for the popular Caribou Ridge Trail #79, which is a National Recreation Trail and features excellent views of Lake Coeur d’Alene, is adjacent to the campground’s main entrance. Also nearby is the Mineral Ridge trailhead. Mineral Ridge Boat Launch is located approximately 2 miles from the campground, along ID-97.  The nearest gas, grocery and ATM is in Coeur d'Alene, 15 miles away. Fishing is available in nearby Coeur d'Alene Lake.
